Giant Trevally fishing Andaman: 6 fishing days, unfortunately, go by too quickly, and this time was no exception. This time the trip went to the Andamans, which is an island group located between India and Thailand. Palle Berthelsen, Torben Andersen, and I had booked Gamefishing Asia. We stayed very close to the harbor in their quite nice facilities with a view over the water.
Day 1 – 2: Windy Conditions & Tactical Jigging in Havelock and Rutland

Now for the Giant Trevally fishing Andaman – we started with 2 days where it was quite windy. This combined with minimal current, but increasing, made fishing difficult. So we fished partly east at Havelock as well as close to the coast in the south of Rutland Island. It was difficult to get the popper fishing to work properly, so it was primarily the jigging fishing that was the focus. We ended up with 8 GTs, 2 Bigeye trevallys and a myriad of different species, the first 2 days.
Day 3 – 5: 65 Nautical Mile Run to Little Andaman

The next 3 days were a long trip to Little Andamans. A sailing trip of about 65 nautical miles. We fished on the way down over reefs, shallows and peaks and had good fishing on the way south. GTs of up to 117 cm (approx. 33-35kg). There is really a bandit going on that can in no way be compared to fish in Danish waters.

We stayed at the island’s supposedly best hotel, which is not exactly “Hilton standard”, but we just needed a bed to sleep in. The locals were really nice and would do anything for us.
We stayed there for 3 days and fished from the island as a starting point. The fishing gradually got better as the days went by, but it also coincided with the tidal current increasing and should peak later that week.
Day 6: Final Run Back to Port Blair – Banner Day
On the last day we fished on the way home towards Port Blair. We caught 10 GTs so it was an approved day and a nice end to a good week.
Six-Day Giant Trevally Fishing Catch Report at Andaman with Gamefishing Asia
The result after 6 days of fishing was 49 GTs, with the largest at 117, 109, 108, 106 and 104 cm. In addition, countless bluefin Trevallys, some Bigeye Trevallys, and a couple of really hard-fighting Red Snappers, where I got a new PR. We also got a lot of Jobfish, rainbow runner, various groupers, Corel Trout, Dogtooth tunas up to about 5 kg, Barracuda, Bonitos and triggerfish.
Friendly Danish Boat Competition – Victory on Water – Giant Trevally fishing Andaman
All in all, a great trip with flex on the blade. The trip was even better when we won the internal Danish boat competition against Jan Svenstrup, Claus Lind and Martin. So Jan, you just tell us about the time and place.
Why Gamefishing Asia Is the Best Fishing Charter in Andaman?

A big thank you to Captain Arjun Kumar, because without his local knowledge of currents, winds and fishing spots, we wouldn’t have had such a good day. Thanks to Darran Davis for organizing it all well.
Post-Trip Relaxation at Havelock Island
Torben, Palle and Diana Brudegaard Andersen traveled home after fishing and Merete Raith and I went to Havelock Island for a week of relaxation.
