How long have you been fishing? When did you start?
I have been an avid fishing enthusiast since I was 8 years old. I started with Fresh Water fishing (bait) and moved up to saltwater fishing in Chennai, India. I have also been on many trips with local fishermen catching mackerel and tuna, until I started professional angling trips around the world. I have fished in Cape Cod and caught Blue Fin Tuna on spinning and jigging. The catch has been from 60 kilos till 90 kilos. I started fishing in the Andamans later on after talking to Darran, since I was passionate about popping and jigging, and have never looked back since.

What do you like the best about fishing in the Andaman Islands?
What I like best about fishing in the Andamans, is its beauty and the variety of species it presents. On good days we have hooked up to more than100 fish and there is always a chance of a record fish which GFA can get done for you.

What are Your tackle recommendations for large fish in general?
The tackle recommendations for the Andamans would be – for popping, a good fast action rod, since you pop in areas with currents, a specialist stick bait rod casting from 100-200 gm stick baits and a jigging rod for speed jigging and light jigging rod for when you take a break or want to take some dinner back to your place. The reels would be the new Daiwa Saltiga 14000xh (very good for popping) and Stella or Daiwa 8000 pg/hg model for jigging. I recommend Line Jerry brown hollow core line, for lures I recommend the Amegari Dzanga, Blaze Garage Sathatha, Namu Pen 240, OTL stick baits, Smith Mejuyme jigs.

What is your all-time favourite lure for GT fishing?
Amongst all, my favourite lure, is the Blaze Garage Kimitsu and Amegari Dzanga.

What is the most interesting experience you had on a fishing trip?
The most interesting experience I had, was my first ever trip with GFA, where I was hooked on to a 300+ lb Marlin on jigging, but unfortunately lost it. Another time, I hooked on to a 25 kilo GT and saw another record size GT chase the one I had hooked, to eat it.

What would be your message for the young generation of anglers?
My message to young anglers would be to follow the basics and use lures and gears for the situation and weather patterns of the spot you choose. Good brands do make a difference when it comes to choosing gear. Also make sure to study feeding patterns of the fish from your guide.

What you enjoyed during your fishing trip and why you are returning with us in the Andaman Islands, would you revisit and how do you rate our service?
Andamans is a dream destination and is very close to home, which is a gift in itself. More than that however, is that GFA is like family – they take genuine interest in the angler and give the best hospitality one can get. They make sure they deliver results and have the best teams – whether it is at Kokari Guesthouse or on their boats. They are renowned for taking you to unchartered and virgin destinations, just to make sure that you get the best experience. Out of all the trips I made to the Andamans over the years, I have to say that I caught my record fish over there with the GFA team. Without a doubt I will always bring new anglers along with me, so that they too can have memorable experiences like I have had. I make it a point to fish 3 times a year with GFA, so that says it all for me.

Fishing destinations on your must visit list / bucket list?
In my bucket list are Madagascar and Seychelles.

What was the biggest fish you caught till date?
The biggest fish I have caught till date, is a Blue Fin Tuna weighing 96 kilos and a Giant Trevally of 38+ kilos with GFA.
